Casa Londres

I spent several weeks here and found it good value. The room was nice, the bed was comfortable, and there’s a table if you need to work. It’s not a luxury hotel, but the location is convenient, about five minutes from the beach and Estoril train station, with restaurants and grocery stores nearby. The staff were friendly and the room was cleaned daily. I’d recommend it.

I was stranded in the area because of car trouble. I’d stayed the previous night at a nice nearby hotel, but it was full the next night, so I had to settle for this place. It’s old and dirty, with a broken window and filthy sheets and towels. I’d rather not comment on the bathroom. The owner is Chinese, and his wife, who works there, sleeps on the floor. Only choose this place if you have no other option, as I did. Avoid it if you can.

The photos on booking dot Com make the place look bright and inviting, but that wasn’t my experience. The common spaces and breakfast room were shut, apparently because of Covid?!. In my room the bathroom was sectioned off with a makeshift plastic wall, and the appliances were old and worn out. My towel had dirty spots on it, which I noticed while drying myself. For a few more euros, you could stay at a 3 star hotel instead.

The free WiFi and permit parking were nice, and I appreciated the USB charging extension and TV in the room. The breakfast was forgettable, though, with a loud TV on, and even the water cooler had an empty bottle. There are serious problems here: exposed electrical wires, mouldy, slippery bathrooms and very little hot water. We had none on the second night. The website claims the rooms are quiet, but sound carries clearly inside, and there was plenty of noise outside too, including construction at the neighboring property right by my room. It was a terrible stay. The place felt like a single-room hostel or student housing, and I worried about how they handle credit cards. Avoid it. EU membership should mean some standards, and this place falls far short.
