The Lince Ecorkhotel Évora

A quiet spot surrounded by nature, with friendly, polite staff. Breakfast was good, and the restaurant served very good food, though it was 40-50€ per person. It makes for a nice getaway, while still giving you a city to explore. We had a good experience and I’d recommend it.

The setting is lovely, the lounge and buffet breakfast were nice, and the staff were friendly. But this didn’t feel like a 4 star stay. The rooms were basic and clearly need renovations, while the sauna and steam room timers made the spa less than ideal. You also have to pay extra for head caps. A lot of little things kept the stay from being as smooth as it could be. There’s potential here with more care, but for now I’d rate it 3 star at loft.

I made a real effort to arrive on time for my massage, and now I’ve been sitting here for 25 minutes waiting for it to start. I’ve got a packed day, and there seems to be no regard for the schedule.

The common areas were very good, the breakfast ingredients were excellent, and the staff were kind, understanding, and helpful. Still, we ended up leaving halfway through our stay. We’d gone there hoping to relax, but the room looked nothing like the photos and wasn’t what I’d expect from a 4-star hotel. It was dirty, with cobwebs, dust, and grime on the chairs, and badly in need of repairs. We didn’t even feel comfortable taking a shower. We complained when we arrived, but nothing was done. When we raised it again that night, we were told we’d have to speak to management in the morning. We got up early, asked for a refund for the second night, and left. There are much better options in Évora for that price. They said the hotel was being renovated, but if so, they shouldn’t have sold us that room.
