Quinta do Louredo

Breakfast was AMAZING, and the breakfast staff were so kind and friendly, two of the best people we met on our trip through Portugal. The room was fantastic apart from taking a few hours to warm up because it was frigid when we arrived. The beds were comfortable, the linens very soft, and the bathroom lovely. We spent one night in late December. The person who checked us in wasn’t particularly friendly, which was the most off-putting part. The breakfast room was quite chilly too, so dress warmly if visiting in winter. We loved walking around the farm in the morning, and our daughter enjoyed seeing the animals, who all seemed very well cared for.

The kids had such a good time wandering around the farm, meeting the animals and petting the dogs, while we got to enjoy quiet dinners. Each evening, Ricardo, the wonderful restaurant chef, served a different traditional dish made with care. The staff were lovely throughout, especially the caring woman at breakfast. When my oldest got sick, everyone was kind and did what they could to help. The place has modern rooms, a lovely pool and a peaceful, country feel. You can sense how much care goes into it as soon as the gate opens and you see the farm. The only thing we missed was a fridge in the room. I heard they’d already bought some and planned to install them soon. We’d love to return for a longer stay and explore more of the area.

Ricardo is such a friendly chef, and his cooking was amazing. He even has a very cool mustache. Dinner was especially good, and breakfast was really tasty too. I had a restful stay on this beautiful property, with horses, cows, sheep, donkeys, dogs, pigs and plenty more animals to see as you walk around and enjoy the fresh air. Évora is just an easy 10-minute drive away, so everything is still close. There wasn’t always someone at reception, but whenever I needed something I could reach the staff by phone. I can’t wait to come back!

The grounds are amazing, and there are loads of animals for the kids to enjoy. Our room was beautiful and spacious, breakfast was great, and the stay was good value. It’s a top-class hotel. I only wish we could’ve stayed longer.
