Quinta do Minhoto

A real paradise! It's a family place, nothing like the usual hotel setup. It feels as if you're being welcomed into a friend's home. David and Patrick are wonderful hosts.

A peaceful, very pleasant place with all the comforts. I'd love to return in summer and enjoy the naturally filtered pool.

The garden was beautiful and neatly trimmed, the place was very quiet, the mattress was comfortable, and the location worked well for visiting different places. It's also close to Fafe, with good nightlife for dinner and a stroll. Still, we left disappointed after arriving excited by the photos and reviews. The place seemed to have seen better days, and some things were broken or not working properly, including the bathroom faucets. There were no toiletries, which would have saved us a shopping trip on arrival day. The nearest supermarket was several kilometres away, so we had to get in the car. Outside, ashtrays were full of cigarette butts, and there were bottles and other rubbish around. There was very little lighting at night. The natural pool seemed neglected, and after spotting a snake in it and being unable to see the bottom, we didn't dare swim. The steps were covered in algae; we were told they'd be cleaned, but they never were. All of that really put us off.

We really enjoyed our stay and would happily come back. The Quinta is lovely, and the hosts were warm and helpful. It’s especially nice if you want some peace and time surrounded by nature. A pet-friendly place, too.
