Dream House Hostel

The beds and pillows were really comfortable, the staff were nice, and the place was very clean with a kitchen area. There is a nightclub nearby, but ear plugs should make it manageable. The laundry machine costs €5, detergent included, and the AC was really nice. There weren’t any towels, and the blanket was just a thin sheet, though that wasn’t a big deal for us. There’s only one bathroom per floor, which can get annoying, but it wasn’t a major problem. Honestly, I really liked this hostel. It doesn’t deserve such a bad rep.

We booked for a 2 night stay but never got any kind of confirmation, so I had to email to confirm both nights. After our flight was cancelled, we asked for a refund for the first night. We were then told we had booked only one night, despite the earlier email confirmation, and I still don’t know whether we were charged for two. In the middle of the night we were locked out of our rooms for more than hour. None of the emergency contacts answered, and nobody was working reception. When an employee finally got in touch, they were very rude. The manager was hard to reach and refused to refund us. I’d save the stress and money and book somewhere else. UPDATE: I have email exchanges that disprove the hostel’s claim that we “didn’t show up” and WhatsApp exchanges showing there was never any “threat.” I can post them here if this company wants to argue with me about it and lie to potential customers. We would never want to stay at this horrible place again.

I wish I’d paid more for those 7 hrs of not very good sleep somewhere else. Communication was slow, and the room for our one night while travelling hadn’t been cleaned. There were hairs everywhere, the bin hadn’t been emptied, and there were cockroaches in the bathroom. There’s no bedlinnen, and of course nobody tells you. For a lousy room that only just fits the bed, the price was too high. The only good thing was the nice pillow. Dreams House is more of a nightmare.

The bed sheets were filthy and the room felt completely unhygienic. We were so disgusted that we left early in the morning and cut our stay short. The hostel is right beside a noisy disco, with loud music going until the early hours, so we couldn’t sleep at all. This was an awful experience. I strongly advise anyone thinking of staying here to look elsewhere and avoid the same mistake.
