Hospedaria Sao Filipe

The staff were kind and attentive to what we needed, and the room was cleaned daily, with towels changed when needed. It's small, but quite comfortable. We had a positive attitude towards them and they responded warmly. You can buy a cold beer from the fridge at reception for a good night. Everything is a short walk away. There is some outside noise, but it felt like part of the town's charm and reminded us not to spend too long indoors. What's not to like? We'll book here again next time we're in Faro.

For the price, it was excellent. We booked the small deluxe double, so the room and bathroom were both small, but it had AC and a balcony. On holiday, you're mostly out visiting places and just sleep in the room anyway. One thing to know: you have to ring the bell every time you enter the property, and reception lets you in.

The AC was really loud, and the bathroom was dirty, almost mouldy, with a bad smell. The room was so cramped we could barely move around, and the sheets were dirty too.

The bed was comfortable and towels were provided. Getting around was easy because the location is good and everything is close by. Noise was a problem, though. You can hear neighbours showering or talking loudly, as well as conversations in the hallway. With the windows open, street noise also comes through.
