The apartment was noisy, and having the wc in the open room with the bed meant no privacy. After booking, I was told check-in would be at another hotel I didn’t know, instead of the booked premises. That was annoying and uncomfortable, especially the extra walk with luggage and a 45-minute wait in line. Even after three reminders, I never got my receipt.

The room was large and spacious, with air conditioning. We booked through Alameda Gardens, and the listing mentioned a shared kitchen but didn’t say the bathroom was shared. On the second day, we noticed the bathroom hadn’t been cleaned. If it had been, it clearly hadn’t been done very well. We were also given one large towel, with no small one, and the kitchen had very few cutlery items.

We needed somewhere urgently at 10 PM after car trouble. Once we got to Faro city center, we were sent to an address where the place wasn’t actually located. No one answered when we called several times, and Booking.com didn’t respond when we contacted them. We asked the police for help, and they took us to a different address with the reception. After two hours there, while the receptionist was taking phone orders from someone we couldn’t identify, they finally sent us back to the first address. It turned out to be a shared apartment with animals and other people. We’d booked and paid for a private room with a private bathroom, so we complained. They then agreed to take us to the hotel’s reception area, and after three hours of struggle we could finally sleep. I don’t recommend this place. Be warned, it could ruin your vacation. Booking.com didn’t provide good service either.

There were so many problems with the staff and the apartment. It was an extremely bad place, and I don’t recommend it. I left as soon as I found somewhere better.
