The manager was very friendly and the rooms were decent. From our room, we could hear some of the music from the nearby sanctuary, though we couldn’t see it. The prices weren’t too high. The front desk guy on our first day was kind of rude, and the Wi-Fi wasn’t great. Hopefully they’ll sort that out.

The smell of ammonia in our room was so strong when we arrived that we left the doors and windows open, thinking it might be cleaning fumes. After we went out for a meal, it was still just as bad. Reception gave us disinfectant, but it didn’t help, and no rooms were available when we asked to move. They offered no other help then. We kept the window open all night, but the smell was still throughout the room, even on the pillows. After we complained again the next day, someone finally checked and found the smell was coming from the fridge. I can’t imagine what might have happened if we’d slept with the windows shut. Please take guests’ complaints seriously.

For any North American pilgrims wondering about it, the air conditioning works in summer. I could come back to my room to cool off after praying at the sanctuary in 40 Celsius heat.

I stayed in 2016, if I remember right, and it may still have been a 3-star hotel then, though I’m not sure. The room was nice, but the corridor seemed a little old. The price was good and the staff were friendly. My reservation company apparently had some deal with the hotel, because my dinner was a lower level than what they served at the nearby tables. The location was very close to Fatima church, which was convenient, and overall I had a good stay.
