I spent just one night here and immediately wished I could stay longer. There are lovely places to relax, unwind, and enjoy nature with friends, family, or a partner. The general atmosphere was lovely, and the three fireplaces I counted at night really rounded out the stay.

Our final night was awful. The heating stopped working, the room got extremely cold overnight, and we were there with an infant, so none of us was comfortable. We reported it in the morning, and staff acknowledged the fault but described it as minor. It didn’t feel minor after such a bad night’s sleep. There was no real apology, practical response, or compensation. Since it happened on our last night, there wasn’t a chance to change rooms or try another solution. Equipment can malfunction, but what stood out was the lack of ownership afterward, especially when a family with a baby was affected. I can’t recommend this hotel.

The church is very close, and there’s also a path through the woods that links to the Stations of the Cross and the place where Our Lady of Fatima appeared to the three children. The grounds themselves feel like a little retreat. From the heart shaped gate and tree and flower filled entrance to the concrete flower scented room, with its thin green door, crisp white bed, towels and bathrobes, and coffee station, there’s a lot of charm. The windows let fresh air move through. My husband and I visited Fatima, Portugal for the first time, and I fell in love with both the town and the hotel. It’s quiet and relaxing, much prettier than pictures can show. The staff, a group of women, were polite, attentive to little details, and ready to help us feel welcome. Breakfast was lovely, with seasonal fruit, nuts, ham, cheeses, yogurt, juices, homemade pastries, and breads. We could have sat there for hours. The breakfast room is adorable, you have to see my pictures. There’s also a concrete raised pool.

We only stayed two nights, but left feeling rested and recharged. The room had a unique design, and the whole place was peaceful, with beautifully landscaped gardens scented with rosemary. The heated pool had lots of room to lounge, and there were quiet nooks for sitting still or meditating. We especially loved the walking trail into a small eucalyptus grove, it felt almost mystical and smelled wonderful. Both breakfast and dinner were excellent, and we appreciated having vegan options. One thing did trouble me: the little canary lives alone in a very small cage. For a place this peaceful and mindful, a spacious aviary with other birds would feel more fitting. Better still, I hope someday to enjoy the property without any animals kept in cages.
