The apartments are roomy and thoughtfully laid out, and the terrace has a fantastic view over the rolling hills. Having breakfast or a glass of wine out there is a real treat. It's north of the Douro River, so allow about 20-30 minutes by car depending on where you're headed. The grounds are spectacular and well kept, and the place is peaceful, with plenty of nature around. There are wine tastings to enjoy, too. If you're hoping for restaurant service on site, this may not suit, though there are a few places in the nearby town if you have a car. I'd recommend it for a quiet break with beautiful views.

Fernanda was so generous and welcoming that we wished we hadn't booked anything else that day. We would have happily spent the whole afternoon there. This was the best wine tasting we've had, not only in the Douro but anywhere in the world. I can't recommend the experience enough!
