Casa do Adro Boutique Hotel

We’d happily stay here again. Idalia and the staff treated us like family, and the location was great. Our room was just right, breakfast was excellent, and we especially loved the chocolate cake.

The staff were kind and helpful, but there were only two people looking after all the hotel guests, so even simple requests took far too long. In mid-August the pool seemed neglected, with green buildup on the walls and what looked like algae floating in the water. Swimming there felt uncomfortable. The cocktail bar was pricey for Portugal, and the breakfast buffet didn’t feel like what you’d expect at a four-star hotel. The hotel itself isn’t bad, but the facilities are poor and management, separate from the staff, is very deficient.

What stood out most was how attentive and helpful the staff were throughout our two-night stay. The rooms were spacious and clean, as was everything else. Breakfast was continental, with fresh bread, a choice of cakes, fresh juices, and more. There’s free indoor parking, and the pool is generously sized for a hotel of this kind. We also saw a rooftop space that seemed to be available for hire and events. Free Wi-Fi was included.

The restaurant had an unusual menu, but the food was delicious and nicely presented, and the atmosphere was lovely. It’s a very nice hotel, too. Those big pools must be especially good on hot summer days. I’d like to visit again 😀
