We had a large room with a balcony overlooking the central area, and our friends got the same. The building and staff were faultless, and there’s space to park a motorhome too. At 70 euros it’s amazing value, especially as the hotel looks to have had a recent upgrade. It’s modern, spotless and contemporary. The outside metalwork will naturally get rusty with the full force of the Atlantic hitting it, but the price makes this well worth a visit.

The bed was comfortable and the hotel was clean, but the service was terrible for a four star place. Breakfast was awful, and I have no idea where in Portugal they found those ingredients. I was completely unsatisfied and wouldn’t recommend it.

The rooms felt worse than a two star hotel, and the place wasn’t worth its four stars. Two receptionists were very rude, and the director was impolite and arrogant. That only changed after she found out one of our family members was a Sargent. The reception treated us badly from the start. The staff are nice, and I wish they could find another hotel to work at. As a Portuguese citizen, I’m really ashamed that people from other countries have to share this experience. There are much better hotels in Portugal.

The food at restaurant "Sal" was amazing, and the pool is beautiful. The sea and mountain views are lovely, though getting to quiaios beach is tricky because the roads are narrow. The bedrooms are cosy, but the bathrooms are really small, and the 19-inch room TV is almost impossible to read from bed. Construction noise inside the hotel, and at the bar by the pool, made the experience less enjoyable. I’d recommend it to people looking for peace and quiet and time at the beach.
