Agro-turismo Quinta da Fonte

We loved this place and would come back to explore more of the nearby walks, river beaches and friendly villages. The hosts made us feel at home, and their dogs were just as welcoming. Our room was cosy, comfortable and had lovely views. On a cool, damp winter evening, the snug bar was a welcome place to settle in. We switched off our phones, listened to the birds and the stream, and looked up at the stars. The food was delicious and generous, clearly made with care. It’s a lovely, quirky spot away from the daily bustle, and the locals were welcoming too.

I’ve stayed here seven times over the years, and every visit has been amazing. The peaceful setting between two green mountains is beautiful, with dogs, goats, chickens and cats around, plus thriving plants. I love having a cold Sagres in the shade of the kiwi tree. The hosts are incredibly kind and welcoming, and put so much dedication and love into what they do. Breakfast is luxurious and professionally put together, while dinner is plentiful and tastes heavenly. I’ll be back again, and again.

I got so much writing done in the tiny house, with those amazing valley views and such a relaxing feel. The hosts treated me like a princess. The food is exceptional too, though you need to book for their restaurant nights, which are all inclusive. A stunning spot tucked into the valley, well worth stopping for.

We went for a special vegan lunch event and ate in the covered outdoor dining area, with a view into the wooded valley. The Quinta is beautiful and feels quite secluded. I can’t speak to the rooms or other amenities, but I saw that there’s a pool, a bar and several different areas and settings for guests.
