Hotel Avenida Park

We only stayed one night, choosing this hotel for its late check-in, and it was just right for the price. The room was clean and fairly new, the reception staff were lovely, and even the elevator was new and working, despite what some reviews say. Everything felt like a 10 out of 10 for a reasonably priced three-star place. I hadn't read the comments before booking, and I'm glad I didn't. I don't know what people expect at this rating. Highly recommend it.

The elevator incident spoiled my last day at Avenida Park Hotel. I was stuck inside for about an hour, and staff said it would take another hour to get me out. My travel mate got them to call 911, and the fire department rescued me. The hotel gave me no compensation for the trauma. Apart from that, it was good.

The location was perfect and breakfast was good, but I wouldn't recommend staying here, even at a budget price. The rooms are old, and mine had a broken light, old doors and broken locks. Check the room and ask to switch if you can. Staff were okay, but when I complained about the problems, nothing was done. I also emailed before check-in for information and never got a reply. I won't stay here again.

The worst part was the safety issue: one evening another guest was mistakenly given a key to my room and walked in. The electronic key also kept failing, so it had to be replaced three times over five nights. My room was dirty and didn't look like the photos on the hotel's website. There was hair all over the floor when I arrived, and it was never properly cleaned. The bathroom stayed filthy and poorly cleaned throughout the stay. The blankets had yellow stains, and the window was broken. Unacceptable hygiene and serious safety problems.
