Apartamentos Praça Amarela

Apartment 3 was exactly as described when we stayed in mid June 2022. It overlooked a lovely, quiet square in the old town, and the place was bright and immaculately clean. There was plenty of storage, the bed was very comfortable, and the fully equipped kitchen area and facilities would suit a longer holiday too. The bathroom was great, with a really good shower. Bars, restaurants, and cafes were close by, and the marina was less than 100m away. Our host replied very quickly and even arranged taxi transfers to the airport. This is one of the best Airbnb places we’ve stayed in. We’d gladly return and have already recommended it to family and friends. Absolutely top notch.

This was our second stay at Apartamentos Praça Amarela, and we’ve only had good things to say about it. My husband and I spent 10 days in Funchal in October 2021 and stayed 15 days this time. The location is about as good as it gets, and the apartment was clean, nicely decorated, and had everything we needed. The staff were wonderful. They were always kind and courteous, and ready to help with any question or problem.

We were very happy with the apartment and the ladies who run it, especially Susana. The place looked just like the photos, with lots of space, a neat and functional setup, and a fantastic location. It’s one block from the waterfront, with restaurants right outside and around every corner. The area feels lively without being noisy. Susana came to our rescue on short notice on a Saturday morning when we had a carpark situation, and we really appreciated it. We’ll definitely stay here again if we return to Madeira. We also loved Cantinho dos amigos downstairs, our favourite restaurant on the island, so that’s another reason to come back.

We loved our week at Apartamentos Praca Amarela. The place is central, bright, and very convenient. It came with dishes, cutlery, a chopping board, knives, a fridge, an electric kettle, a hand blender, and a capsule coffee machine with 2 capsules. Towels and travel-size shampoo, soap, and shower gel were provided. Fresh flowers and a tray of fruit were a lovely, unexpected touch. The TV had plenty of programs, and the Wi-Fi speed was more than satisfactory. Communication was seamless, and our point of contact was helpful and flexible about check-in and check-out times. One small drawback: there was no oil, spices, cooking foil, or similar supplies. It also took a couple of tries to figure out the entrance door. Pulling it upward and then using the key worked for us.
