Apartment Henriques

We were welcomed warmly and given a delicious local cake on arrival. Thank you, Mr. Henriques. At 360 meters above sea level, the place is peaceful, with a magnificent view, and there's a very good restaurant nearby. Shops are a bit far, the walk down to the beautiful botanical gardens is difficult, and buses go all over to the town center. Parking is impossible.

Lino was a terrific host, and the shared terrace had lovely views over Funchal and the sea. He greeted us warmly, offered an airport pickup, then showed us around and gave useful local tips. We stayed in the well-equipped, clean Zen room, which also had a washing machine. Because of the steep terrain, buying a bus ticket is a good idea. Lino also rents cars, and we did that, which turned out to be a fantastic way to explore the island. We look back on the stay fondly and highly recommend his accommodation in Madeira. His hospitality and the comfortable room made it a very enjoyable trip.

The welcome from Lino was warm and friendly. The apartment was nicely decorated and had all the essentials, plus a balcony with a spectacular view over Funchal where we ate our meals. His studios and apartments are near the Botanical Garden, which you can reach on foot. It's well worth visiting and very interesting.

We spent two weeks here in March and April 2021, and the place exceeded our expectations. Photos can make properties look lovely, but rentals sometimes turn out to be more worn when you arrive. That wasn't the case at all with host Lino. Everything was in excellent condition and meticulously clean, and the apartments had all the amenities we could need. It's a great place in a beautiful location with breathtaking views. The position works perfectly as a base for Funchal and the rest of Madeira, and we'd suggest renting a car to explore the island. Restaurants, bakeries, and shops are very close. We're already figuring out when we can return, though after telling everyone how great the stay was, I'm worried it will be booked up!
