We had a large apartment and a lovely view over Funchal harbor. The gas stove seemed a little old to us and could do with being replaced. On our first night, the left side of the master bedroom bed at the head end broke. The landlord's father propped it up temporarily with a can of paint, which got the bed level again so we could keep using it. For a two-week stay, there weren't enough bath and hand towels. Even with the washing machine and time to dry them, we couldn't wash the used towels ourselves. The house dog was also a nuisance, barking whenever it got the chance and keeping us from sleeping in. The drive up to the property is very steep, about an 18% gradient, so a powerful rental car may make getting there easier.

The owners live on the ground floor and are around if anything comes up. The accommodation is very well equipped, and the view of Funchal is stunning.

A beautiful spot to visit. You can grab a bite at the restaurant and then take the lovely air ride down to the beach 👍
