The view of Funchal was beautiful, and the rooms were spacious, quiet, clean, and had a nice little kitchenette. Staff were really friendly and helpful, and they sorted out a problem we had quickly. Breakfast costs £12 and is a great deal for the amount of food. The location works perfectly for dinner in Funchal and getting elsewhere, and parking was good. We had a great stay and would highly recommend it.

I liked the hotel’s design and its location. Parking and breakfast both cost extra, though the furniture is a bit old, it’s still functional. Breakfast let me down: there were no vegetables, just fruit, eggs, sausages, cheese, yogurt, juices, and some kind of nuts. I didn’t like much of it, and some items seemed to use cheap ingredients.

The garden was my favorite part, full of exotic trees, and the city view was fantastic. It’s a gorgeous, artistic place in a quiet neighborhood, about a 10-minute walk from Funchal’s old town. But it felt awkward to be charged for tea and coffee in the room. There were ants and mosquitoes everywhere, and I thought our room was a bit pricey.

At night, the city sparkles below and the air smells lovely, which makes the place feel magical. The gardens are full of flowering trees, and there are artistic touches throughout the hotel. Our room was beautiful and comfortable, and the staff were warm and kind. With its stunning views over the city and ocean, this is a hidden gem that’s well worth a visit.

Breakfast was a real highlight, with bread, fruit, juices, and eggs made to order. I ate outside and had a beautiful view. I was staying here for a few days before a week-long hiking trip in Funchal with Wildland Trekking. The room was lovely, the AC worked great, the bed was comfortable, and the staff were so attentive. I highly recommend it.
