Parking right at the property was convenient, and my room was beautiful, spotless, comfortable, and had a fantastic sea view. The whole hotel was very clean. Breakfast and the other meals were fresh, well prepared, and enjoyable. The team made me feel welcome from the start and stayed warm, respectful, and attentive throughout. Housekeeping were friendly too. Before I arrived, unexpected travel complications came up, and the hotel handled them with real kindness and flexibility. Communication was friendly, professional, and focused on finding a solution, and we quickly agreed on something fair. What could have been stressful became a wonderful holiday. I felt relaxed and well looked after, and would happily stay again. A heartfelt thank you to the whole team. I highly recommend Hotel Escola.

I liked the atmosphere, and there’s free parking in front of the hotel. The staff were friendly and very helpful, and the service at breakfast was really nice. Breakfast itself was good. I had to cancel my last 2 days and they refunded the whole amount, which was very nice of them. If you have a car, the location is perfect. ✨

The sea view rooms are good value for money, though the hotel is a little far from the ocean. Staff were very attentive, the air conditioning worked well, and the bed was decent, but the pillows could be better. They should offer more in room dining options.

The staff were kind, welcoming, and always available to help. The continental breakfast included a great variety of 3 to 4 fresh fruits, with small changes each day, though there were very limited choices for alternative diets. There’s a private parking lot. Prices were reasonable compared with nearby places, and it’s a solid 3-star hotel. The look is old fashioned, but the room appliances have been renovated.

We’d read some negative comments, but our stay was totally fine and better than we expected. The hotel isn’t new, though it has been renovated, and our room was nice. Breakfast was good, the staff were amazing, and our daughter loved how kind and helpful they were. The balcony view was breathtaking, and the location worked really well for exploring the island, just a few kilometers from Funchal. Totally recommended. 10/10. Thanks for everything! Regards from Noémi ❤️
