Dorisol Estrelicia Hotel

The hotel itself was comfortable, with clean rooms and a good location. What spoiled my experience was the person who checked us in. They seemed confused about basic procedures and what was happening in the system, and communication was difficult. Their manner felt dismissive instead of welcoming, with no effort to help. After a long journey, that was especially disappointing. Reception staff represent the hotel, and this interaction left a very negative impression. I hope management looks at staff training, because the hotel deserves better service at the front desk.

The noise during our stay at Dorisol made it impossible to relax. The hotel held a so-called “folklore music night” that carried on until 10:00 PM, with relentless drumming and shouting at a volume more like a street festival than hotel entertainment. It wasn't background music. It filled the building, and relaxing, working, or sleeping before 10:00 PM was simply impossible. We were effectively stuck in our rooms with the pounding percussion and screaming echoing around us. We complained more than once, but management did nothing meaningful. There was no attempt to lower the volume, no worthwhile apology, and no alternative arrangements, just indifference. It's astonishing that a hotel would think this level of disruption is acceptable for paying guests. If you're looking for peace, comfort, or professionalism, avoid this place. It was chaos, not hospitality.

The location is pretty good, provided you're willing to climb the ridiculously steep hill to reach the hotel each time. Service was okay, but when we reported that our room key card wasn't working, it took around 20 minutes to get help. Breakfast quality was on the poor side, and the pool bar served us burnt bruschettas. The hotel doesn't live up to how it looks on the website. If keeping to a budget is your main concern, though, I guess you can only expect so much.

The buffet breakfast was the highlight for me, with a great selection each morning. Staff were consistently friendly and helpful, and the service was excellent. It's a perfect location for exploring the city. Guest parking is available for an extra cost.
