Four Views Monumental

The main thing that let us down was the customer-facing service. Check-in felt frosty, and some bar staff acted as if ordering a drink was a huge inconvenience, so we were put off ordering more. The pool attendant and cleaners were friendly and always smiled, though. The breakfast food was never hot. We even went as soon as service started, but it was still lukewarm. On the plus side, the rooms were modern and thoroughly cleaned, with soft bed linen and a shower with great pressure. The hotel is in a good spot, with decent restaurants, supermarkets, and excellent transport links nearby. It’s worth walking down the hill out front to the promenade and lido. Despite those issues, we really enjoyed our stay. Thank you!

The place was clean, and the only meal available was breakfast, which was superb, especially the delicious fruit. The staff were fantastic, too, and that would make me seriously consider other hotels in the group. Laura handled my reservation and questions pleasantly and professionally. Ricardo at the front desk was proactive and gave great advice, while Martino kept the pool in perfect shape and was always ready to help. I was sad to hear the hotel will be closing for a complete renovation.

We spent a week here in November and would come back in a heartbeat. It’s a relaxed hotel with what you need for a trip, in a great location with lots of restaurants and a shopping mall underneath. The views were fantastic. We were on the fourth floor at pool level. Our room was clean and spacious, and the staff were very friendly and happy to help. The pool bar was great and well staffed. Breakfast was a treat, with an amazing range of high-quality food. Sitting in the sunny bar area with sea views while eating was an added bonus. Thanks for a great stay, Lyn and Steve.

I visited in late November-early December 2024. Getting to the area around Funchal cathedral took me about 30-35 minutes on foot, and there are two small malls or shopping centres close by, along with a nice selection of bars and restaurants. The staff were friendly, helpful, and professional. My room was spacious and clean, and the breakfasts were high quality, with plenty of fresh fruit and a good selection of other food. There’s free underground parking, which is handy if you rent a car. The hotel also has pools, a spa, and gym access, but I didn’t have time to use them, so I can’t comment on those.
