Villa Pembe Palheiro Village

The apartment itself was clean and comfortable, but I wouldn't return unless I needed a kitchen for a longer stay. It had a kitchen and washing machine, but no basics at all, not even coffee or laundry detergent. We booked for three and only got two sets of towels. Management deliberately left the building entrance open, and they were rude and unhelpful when we asked for reimbursement for the days we didn't stay. There's no airport shuttle. Other than the outdoor pool, the amenities listed on Booking.com all cost extra. Check-in wasn't properly explained, including the easier southern entrance, which they know doesn't appear on Google Maps.

There's a golf course right up on the hill, which is a lovely finishing touch. The village itself feels very luxurious, with several rows of villas for visitors and permanent residents, plus a town centre with a pool and recreational activities.

Our one-bedroom stay in apartment number 5 was a real pleasure. It had air conditioning, and the location, service, and lovely pool area were all great. There's also a building where you can sit back and watch TV. Cristina deserves a special mention for arranging our rental car and replying quickly whenever I had a question. Villas are available as well. A supermarket and petrol station are nearby, and it's close to the main motorway. Reservations at Palheiro Village go fast, so book before they're gone. I was very happy there and didn't want to leave. 😊

There was plenty of room, two washrooms, a well-stocked kitchen, a washer and dryer in the unit, included parking, and the place was quiet with security on site. I'd rate it around 3.5 out of 5. Check-in was confusing because I didn't know where to go, and the Wi-Fi was weak enough that I could only use it in the kitchen. Expedia made it look like the gym was included, but it wasn't. We had to pay $110 Euros for one cleaning over six days, and I didn't notice much difference afterward, aside from fresh towels and toilet paper. There weren't enough towels, no face towels or conditioner, and I had to buy detergent after being told they don't provide it.
