The staff were kind and helpful, and the room was spacious, with a balcony and sofa. There was a large, well-equipped kitchen and everything we needed, including towels and a hair dryer. The location was great, with a bus stop right outside the gate. It could've been a little cleaner, but it wasn't anything serious.

The owner was incredibly rude and unprofessional. He kept hanging up when we called, so my sister and I lost the whole afternoon going to the hostel to speak with him in person. He was even ruder face to face and walked away while we were talking. People in Madeira have been so kind, and he was by far the worst part of our time on the island. We were so disgusted that we canceled the booking and chose to pay the full fee just to avoid spending another moment there. I travel a lot and have never experienced anything like it. He seemed greedy and dishonest in the way he made money. If I could give 0/5, I would. Don't come here.

The dogs barked nonstop, and there was no chance of sleeping like a baby. The busy road was loud too, with buses and trucks going by.

The room felt cramped and claustrophobic, and the walls were so thin we could hear all kinds of noise from other rooms. Outside, traffic and dogs made it noisy as well. The woman who handed over the keys was unfriendly and didn't speak English. The bathroom drain on the second floor was blocked, and the kitchen oven was out of order. Avoid this place. It was an absolute nightmare and not worth the money. One star is too much.
