The room was spacious and clean, and the location made it easy to reach the town center, shops, and local markets. That’s the main appeal here, especially for a short, affordable stay. We had a room facing a large reflector light that shone into the window until about 1 a.m. The curtains blocked it, but then we had to keep the window shut. The air conditioning didn’t work properly, so the room got stuffy without ventilation. Some basic fittings were missing too, including the sink and bathtub stoppers. It gave us the impression that management was cutting costs deliberately. Breakfast was poor in both quality and variety, and felt like a waste of money. We’d skip it and go to the excellent local bakery nearby. If you stay here, book the room for its location and don’t expect high quality.

The balcony view was an absolute dream, and having a mini fridge meant we could keep our own food and drinks. The hotel is only a few minutes’ walk from amenities and restaurants. Reception is open 24/7, which made our early-hours checkout very easy. Breakfast was basic, but there was plenty of space and no wait. There was only one plug socket in the room, so charging several devices took a while.

The only real plus is being right in the city. The room was cramped and so dated it made me feel claustrophobic. The bed was rock hard, the AC barely seemed to work, and our fridge was broken. There were maybe two outlets in the whole room. Breakfast had very little choice and wasn’t anything special. Also, there’s no hotel parking lot, and nearby spaces are hard to find, so you may have to pay for a parking garage. I don’t understand the good reviews.

The location isn’t bad, and there’s a supermarket right next door. The rooms are on the small side but okay. Cleaners came every day, yet the lamps were dusty from the first day through our last. For a 3 star hotel, not even having a toaster at breakfast was disappointing, and the selection was very limited.

We stayed at Hotel Do Centro in June 2025 with my wife. The rooms were well soundproofed, and the very central location was a plus. Still, we were disappointed by the cleanliness: the mattress was stained and the curtains especially dirty. There were no power outlets in the room, and breakfast was pretty disastrous.
