We could walk all around central Funchal without needing a car, with cafes, restaurants, shops, and even a mall just minutes away. The rooftop terrace was one of our favorite places, especially for a relaxing swim and sunset. Breakfast came with our stay and had a good range of simple, satisfying choices to start the day. A great option if you want to explore the city while staying right in its heart.

The terrace sunsets were breathtaking, and the room was comfortable with everything I needed. I spent three nights at Hotel Madeira and loved it. There’s so much to explore nearby, and I’d definitely come back on my next trip.

The location is just right for exploring the city and island, and I’ll definitely return to Hotel Madeira soon. My room was spacious, comfortable, very clean, and looked recently refurbished. Breakfast was plentiful with plenty of variety, and the staff were friendly and informative.

We had a great stay at Hotel Madeira. The terrace bar does delicious, well-cooked food, with a different happy-hour cocktail each evening. The hotel is in a fantastic central spot, and the breakfast was excellent. Beds were comfortable; the room decor is dated, but everything was very clean. All the staff were really friendly and helpful.

For its central Funchal location and all it offers, this small hotel is very good value. The rooms are cozy and well equipped, and the continental breakfast is delicious. The rooftop bar and terrace, with a pool overlooking the old town, are amazing. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
