We rented for a week. The grounds are lovely, especially the magnificent garden. Just be aware the road to the rental is extremely steep, so you need to be a confident driver. Going back down is quite a ride too!

The garden is one of the highlights, with so many different plants it feels like a botanical garden. The landscaping deserves five stars. From the house on the hill we watched beautiful sunsets over the view, and the setting is peaceful while still close to town. Because it’s so high up, though, you really need a rental car. Inside, it’s humid and needs airing out; there are electric heaters to help dry the air. Cleanliness was a letdown for me, with lots of cobwebs and spiders. Other guests might not mind, but I’m very afraid of spiders, so it mattered a lot to me.

For a peaceful getaway, this cottage is in a beautiful, secluded spot high on a mountain, away from the city bustle. The fairly large grounds also give you plenty of privacy. It’s well equipped, with lots of kitchen gear and an outdoor barbecue. There are a few drawbacks. The height means it can be damp, and the neighbors’ dogs bark loudly. The beds are terrible, very hard, and you can feel the springs in places. Replace those and I’d recommend the cottage to everyone.
