Residencial Mariazinha

The room was big enough, and I think this is the best street for restaurants. The location is good, but it gets very noisy on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights because there’s a nightclub about 50 metres away downstairs. You can hear the music late, so bring good earplugs. We skipped breakfast, but it’s available for an extra €5 per person.

A lovely old-world guest house, and such a great find. It was very clean and comfortable, with a plentiful continental breakfast every day. The attentive staff went above and beyond to help and make us happy.

We’d happily stay here again. The rooms were in good condition, with air conditioning, and both the rooms and breakfast were basic but acceptable, just as shown online. It’s a small hotel with its own charm, a good fit if you want to avoid larger, busier places. The reception staff were warm and helpful from the moment we arrived. They answered our questions and helped us choose, book, and organize activities. They seemed to care about making sure we had a good time on Madeira.

The hotel has seen better days, but the price and service are good, and the staff were always friendly. It’s right in the centre of the old town. We’ll definitely come back. 🙏
