Vista Funchal

The apartment had everything we needed, and the owners were lovely and very friendly. While we were out, they even brought us bananas from the garden.

We stayed for 4 days and had a very spacious 1 bedroom apartment. It had a kitchen, living room, separate toilet, a bedroom with a sofa bed, and a great balcony that wrapped around. The views were breathtaking. We went in November and could watch both sunrise and sunset, which was especially impressive on a clear day. There was always somewhere to park, and Funchal Town was only a few minutes away by car. Nothing felt far.

Cleanliness was a problem for us: there were cockroaches in the kitchen cupboards and the floor was dirty. The kitchen equipment was also very limited.

The view over the whole capital and ocean is exceptional. I've never had breakfast with a better one. Having parking for three cars is VERY useful, since Madeira has no sidewalks. The apartment wasn't very clean, though: there were ants, and the shower drain smelled bad. Basic things like sugar, an iron, garbage bags, and paper towels were missing. The owner is very helpful, but those supplies should be standard.
