Casa da Água Quente 2

I booked through Vrbo and paid the deposit, but the host later cancelled because he had already rented the property through another platform. Be careful.

A spacious, lovely house with everything you need for a stay. I'd recommend it.

We had a very friendly welcome from the hosts, a father and son, who showed us around and answered all our questions. They'd been in touch beforehand by email and WhatsApp to arrange things, and left us jam, cookies, cheese and different teas. We were two adults and three children, staying for seven days. There was plenty of space, and we didn't find anything missing. We could barbecue, watch the European Championship on TV and use the internet without trouble. The house is clean and seems newly renovated. It initially smelled a little off because of the humidity, but airing it out for a day cleared that up. To me, that's an island issue, not a problem with the house. Both bathrooms were spotless. One has a bathtub and the other a shower, and the toilet seals were intact when we first used them, something I'd usually expect at a hotel. A Spar is about 100 meters away and open every day from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. There are also good restaurants within a 10-minute walk. The village people were really friendly, and a little English was enough to get by. The street outside is narrow, so parking can take some searching, though we always found a spot at the house or just a few meters away. We'd happily stay here again. The previous one-star review is completely wrong and unacceptable. Things can get booked differently... Many thanks and best wishes from Germany!
