I can’t wait to return. This is my favorite place on earth, and my second visit from the U.S. in a year. The breakfasts are incredible, and the staff are so helpful, especially Sarah at the front desk. They arranged transport to the airport and day tours for us. I brought my sister this time, and she found it just as magical. Nothing else matches the beauty and tranquility here, or the cute little town it’s in.

The garden is open to guests 24/7, and the rooms are warm, dry, heated, and well insulated. We had the simplest room for two nights at the beginning of January 2026, traveling with our 9-month-old boy, and it had everything we needed for him. They provided a cot, baby bathtub, bathrobe, and baby amenities. There was even a little welcome gift in the room, a box of baby items and a small duck. The dinners were delicious and breakfast was lovely. If you’re visiting Furnas with a baby, this is absolutely the place for you. It would melt any parent’s heart.

We loved the hotel and the team. The rooms and halls were heated in January, something you rarely find elsewhere, and there’s direct hotel access to the thermal baths around the clock. The location was perfect, breakfast came with a generous pot of coffee and local cheeses, and the lunch and dinner restaurant was excellent and high-level. 10 out of 10.

The bathroom setup was my one real complaint. The shower has only three walls, so water gets all over the room and makes the bath mat useless. We had to put towels on the floor instead. A shower door would fix it, or even a drain by the open side. There’s no exhaust fan either, which is silly. Everything else was amazing. My friends and I loved the huge geothermal pool and hot tubs, and the staff were lovely. The restaurant’s breakfast buffet was delicious, and we enjoyed the one dinner we had there. I also had an amazing massage. It’s a truly lovely hotel with wonderful amenities, and we had a wonderful time. Highly recommend!
