There was nowhere nearby to park, and on the central Furnas street we couldn’t stop to unload, so we had to carry our luggage 500 metres. The room’s only window faced the next-door neighbours’ sitting area, where they were smoking, not the garden. Early in the morning, vacuuming right outside our door woke my kids, so we ended up checking out early. The pool looked large in the pictures but was more like a bathtub. The woman wasn’t friendly, and children were warned straight away not to break her beds. We felt we had to walk on our toes, with no holiday feeling at all. It seemed all about money, with no service or hospitality, and it was very overpriced. Worst experience in the Azores.

Senhora Rosa, the owner, was very friendly. The place was quiet and clean, and our comfortable room had a terrace overlooking the pool and park. Very peaceful, and highly recommended.

We told them beforehand that our flight was running two hours late, but they still refused to let us check in. They kept the payment anyway. Please consider staying elsewhere.

The woman was nice enough, but I found the place quite unwelcoming compared with the two places before it. When I tried to warm up leftovers in the kitchen microwave, she said, “No kitchen.” So we couldn’t use the kitchen? The bed also felt like sleeping on a box spring instead of a mattress. Just okay, not good.

The room was a good size, with a terrace and private bathroom, and worked perfectly for what we needed. It was easy to get around by car, and the lady was lovely.
