Hotel Farol

That balcony overlooking the lighthouse and beach was breathtaking. I booked a superior room and was glad I did, I could have spent the whole trip out there. The room was carefully laid out, with a desk, sitting bench, closets, and a huge bathroom with plenty of towels and hooks. Inside, the hotel is modern and gorgeous, even though it looks unassuming from outside. The staff were incredibly kind, friendly, and went out of their way to help. They all spoke English very well. I'm already dreaming about coming back, and wouldn't stay anywhere else nearby.

The view over the sea from across Farol square is breathtaking, and the beach is only a few steps away. We stayed two nights as a family, using two room categories: a refurbished suite on the third floor and another room that hadn't been modernized and had no air conditioning. Breakfast was great, and the Wi-Fi signal stayed strong throughout the hotel. Staff were polite, though they weren't very helpful with tourist information.

It's very clean, and the generous room space, views, location, and great breakfast make up for the little shortcomings, such as the door locks. I'd pay the extra 10€ for a superior room: you get lots of space and a nice balcony.

We went in January, when occupancy was low, but some restaurants and bars were still open at night and moderately busy. I imagine it gets quite crowded in high season. The view of the lighthouse and seaside was amazing. Our cozy third-floor room had plenty of space for the baby bed we requested, plus a safe, minibar, and queen-size mattress. The bathroom had a bathtub, hairdryer, and makeup mirror. Getting there by car via the A25 and national roads was easy, and there were plenty of public parking spaces on nearby streets.
