Góis Camping

The setting is nice, with a short walk downhill to the village, but there aren’t many places to eat. The site has three stepped levels and feels a bit worn. Every pitch is dirt, and there were ants everywhere. They even covered my bike. It took all day to get rid of them, and I had to wash down the tent. I wouldn’t recommend staying here for camping and wouldn’t stop again.

Only a five-minute walk from a beautiful river beach, this is a great little campsite. Our small car and tent fit well, and many spots had plenty of shade. The facilities are dated, but very clean and everything worked well. The staff were helpful, always smiling and happy to answer our questions. Certainly recommend it.

We planned to stay one night on our motorbike tour, then move on, but liked the campsite, the surrounding roads, and the scenery so much that we added another night. We could easily have stayed longer. It’s the kind of stop you hope to find on a bike trip. There are good facilities, lovely views, and very helpful staff. Take a stroll down into town for dinner and drinks at the cracking bar by the river.

A good, inexpensive place to park up. The hot water works well, the WiFi is reliable, and there’s somewhere to hand-wash dishes and clothes if you’ve got time. There’s also a BBQ and a building/bar with a TV and a few DVDs. My only suggested improvements would be toilet seats, toilet paper, and soap. See the price list I posted.
