I was pleasantly surprised by the price and how nice the place was. Our apartment had its own kitchen, there’s a large pool for just six rooms, and plenty of parking. The staff were really nice too. Melides Beach and Melides Lake are within walking distance, and we saw flamingos at the lake. It’s a great place for a holiday. We drove about an hour to Evora and Beja for some cultural outings and to enjoy the beach there.

This was nothing like what my boyfriend, a couple of friends, and I expected. The house was in very poor shape for what they charge. The spring mattresses were so uncomfortable they felt like knives poking me, and the old sheets smelled bad. The whole house smelled bad too, and it seemed like no cleaning had been done. There wasn’t even a toilet freshener to cover the lingering bathroom odor, so I had to ask the woman for bleach because I couldn’t stand the smell anymore. She was unfriendly from the moment we arrived. If cleanliness and comfort matter to you, I can’t recommend it. 🤮
