Pombeira

The place doesn’t look like the pictures and badly needs a major revamp. I still can’t work out how to use the bidet in the shower. They should explain how it works. Getting in and out is difficult because of the high step, and at one point I nearly called the Bombeiros to get me out. Whoever designed that setup needs a smack on the head. It’s not user-friendly at all.

I arrived at 21h without a reservation and had a room booked within minutes. It was clean, with good air conditioning and a good bathroom. The beds were comfortable, and the place was away from any roads, which made it a great quick stop while visiting Guarda. Breakfast was good too, and the staff were very nice.

Nothing fancy, just a hotel off the side road that does the job when you need somewhere to stop for the night on the way elsewhere. If you’re visiting Guarda, I assume there are better, more central options. The breakfast was surprisingly good, a nice start to the day.

The room is a good size, the staff are nice, and breakfast is good. The bed, though, was an absolute nightmare. It’s a shame the rest is good, because after sleeping there I left the next morning with a sore back.
