Hotel Solaris

For the price, this was a nice place to stay. The location was good and there was some parking, though getting into a spot was a tight squeeze. The room was very clean and the service friendly. It wasn’t perfectly quiet, but that’s how it goes.

I called the Frontdesk before traveling from abroad because I needed help with my reservation for three rooms on the same floor. I’ve never had such a bad experience with client service over a request like this. The staff member showed no willingness to help, started sighing, and then hung up when I pointed that out. I won’t go into more detail. I simply didn’t want to stay in that kind of environment or expose my party to rude, unhelpful Front Desk Officers. I’m used to hotels making a trip to Portugal unforgettable, and this could have spoiled ours before we even arrived at hotel Solaris in Sétubal. Sr. Pedro, thank you for that experience and for saving us from more disappointment early on. There were four of us, including elders, and politely asking for three rooms on the same floor used to be a normal request. Luckily, this has never happened to us before.

The room service was excellent, and the reception staff were very friendly. The hotel was clean, and I found the breakfast filling, even if the choice wasn’t very varied. Soundproofing in the room was excellent, though with the balcony open you could hear traffic from the main street. Being able to open the balcony was a lovely bonus. I recommend it.

The stay was good, and breakfast was provided in the morning. For lunch and dinner, you can go out with a coupon for some nice food and a good view. There’s also shopping and a beach within walking distance.
