34 Guest House

The daily breakfasts and all the little thoughtful touches helped make our stay feel like home. Cristina was attentive from the start and made sure everything was taken care of. We were a family of four with children aged 2 and 4, and the spacious, comfortable room suited us very well. We spent three nights at 34 Guesthouse in Setúbal and felt warmly welcomed as soon as we arrived. We’d happily recommend it to families visiting the city.

The guesthouse has a creative, slightly eccentric style, from the individual character of each room to the carved-hand seat where you can have coffee and complimentary cake in the shared kitchen and living room. The decor, fragrances, and furnishings all fit together in a way that makes the place feel a little magical. Cristina made us feel at ease and was both professional and welcoming. She answered our specific questions and knew which places in town offered the best quality. Ana was another warm, generous presence on the team. And are those delicious cakes really baked every day? We like trying new places, but 34 Guest House is somewhere we’d come back to. Thanks!

Cristina was a great source of local knowledge and greeted me so warmly. Whenever I needed something, she replied quickly with the information I was after. The whole house was comfortable and beautifully decorated. I was in the Porto room, with its lovely veranda under the lemon tree. Fresh coffee and fruit were there each day, and the whole city is easy to explore on foot. I’d highly recommend staying here.

The room at the back of the building was quiet and just right for a restful visit. Cristina welcomed us at the door and helped us settle in, so we felt comfortable straight away. The house has a warm, homey feel, with lovely interior design and care in everything from the colors to the accessories. The location works well too: Bocage is a 3-5 minute walk away, and the beach is about 15 minutes on foot. We’d gladly return and recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
