YMCA Camp Alambre Bungalows

An incredible, affordable place surrounded by nature. The food was amazing, and breakfast was unbelievable. The staff were so generous and caring. Thanks for hosting our group.

After some of our group had spent time at the bar, we all met at the entrance, ready to go for a hike nearby, outside the property's facilities. Someone running the place came over, was extremely rude, and told us we couldn't be there and had to leave. It was an extremely unpleasant experience. I’ll never return, and I’ll tell family and friends to avoid it completely. That person clearly doesn’t understand good business, and the place lost dozens of potential customers, possibly more as we share what happened.

For me, the quiet setting in Serra da Arrábida was a real plus. The bungalows are nice and have everything you need. It’s quite isolated, so you need a car to get there, and there aren’t any restaurants or supermarkets within walking distance. Make sure to get food or groceries beforehand.

We stayed at the YMCA as a family and were told there’d be an extra charge for a child’s bed. We agreed, but were asked to pay the reception staff an extra 20€ separately, since it wasn’t handled through the website. Then the child’s bed was charged again with our stay. I’ve contacted the company around seven or eight times by email and phone. They keep promising to refund the outstanding amount, but it still hasn’t happened. Be careful, because to me this feels like a way to get extra cash from tourists who might not come back. 20€ isn’t a lot, but the dishonesty and the principle of it are what bother me.
