Quinta dos Sinçais

The included breakfast was wonderful, and the room and bedding were clean and modern. The owner was friendly, welcoming, and there whenever we needed anything. I stayed at Quinta do Sincais for about four days. There are two separate houses for guests, one newly built with stunning views of the surrounding nature. The older house is more traditional but still beautiful, and we were given a tour of it. It’s close to Guarda and Serra do Estrela, both beautiful places to visit in the area. I can see how much work has gone into this place, and that deserves recognition. I’ll definitely stay again next time I’m in Portugal. Thank you! 💜

A pleasant spot to rest for the night.

Susana was the best part of our stay. She was always attentive, suggested places to eat in the village, showed us the newer accommodation and part of the property, and explained the best route to Guarda, about 10 minutes away. She also rents electric bikes at a very good price. The breakfast was generous and varied, with coffee, milk, hot chocolate, cereals, croissants, homemade pastries, local bread, juice, ham and cheese, butter, and homemade jam. Everything was carefully prepared and there was more than we could finish. We stayed in the older house, which has been in the family for generations. Our room was spacious and in a classic Portuguese style, with heating and a welcome gift. A minor thing, we would have preferred longer beds or a double bed, though we still slept perfectly. There’s also a newer building with brighter, more elegant rooms and a modern minimalist style. The property is a huge, peaceful plot with vines, vineyards, pasture, woods, and some farmland. It’s a traditional farmhouse adapted for rural stays, full of charm and personal touches, run by a delightful hostess. If you’re after a standard four-star hotel in Guarda, this probably isn’t the place. For an authentic Portuguese quinta experience, Quinta das Sinçais is a fantastic choice.

The rooms were comfortable and very clean, and the views from the dining room were stunning. Susana was incredibly kind and attentive, and breakfast was spectacular. It’s a great base for exploring Serra da Estrela and Portugal’s historic villages.
