We picked this beautiful place to get ready for my wedding. The rooms are very spacious, and breakfast has a good range of bread, cheese, jams, and more. Our hostess was friendly and made sure we were comfortable. The picturesque gardens surround the property, which is close to the city centre and within walking distance of both the coach station and shopping centre. The swans and ducks didn’t disturb us. The only downside was that the wifi didn’t reach the bedrooms. I’d stay again.

Communication was zero. I emailed in English and got no answer. If you don’t speak Portuguese, that’s apparently your problem, since they don’t speak another language. Don’t try contacting them by email.

Casa dos Pombais was a great place to stay. It was quiet, clean, and very well looked after, with a pleasant atmosphere and comfortable rooms. The hospitality was excellent, and it’s ideal if you’re after a restful break with some history. A thoroughly recommendable stay.
