Hotel Fundador

Clean, tidy, quick and easy, and not expensive. Just right for a short stay.

The price felt closer to 4-star rates, while the hotel was decent 3-star quality. If I had paid half as much, I'd have given it five stars. The rooms were clean and looked good for a 3-star place, but breakfast was very basic, enough to get you through until lunch and nothing more. It's near the center and train station, though the surroundings feel industrial, and the outside is quite run down.

The rooms are great, modern, and clean, and there's a short, pleasant walk into the town center. Breakfast was adequate. Watch out for the underground car park: once the best spaces are taken, it's very hard to navigate, with pillars partly blocking the spaces. Smaller cars are best.

The free breakfast is great, more like going to a cafe than a basic continental spread. There were small rolls, sliced bread for sandwiches, ham, turkey, several cheeses including fresh cheese, cereals, hot and cold milk, and good coffee. The breakfast area was very clean and had an incredible view. The rooms are on the small side and a little pricey, though the view is GREAT. The elevators are incredibly slow. Maybe I'm spoiled, but around Toronto, they take about 10 seconds to go from floor 1 to 11. These take a lot longer.
