I only stayed to sleep, so I didn't get to try all the amenities. The woman who welcomed me was very kind. A lovely place, and maybe next time I'll have longer to enjoy more of it.

The kitchen was well stocked and cleaned every other day, with coffee, tea, and salt available for everyone. We also had plenty of towels and a wooden cot for our baby. Our first-floor room looked out over the ocean, and we could use the laundry room. We were happy with our stay at Monte da Guia and would recommend it to anyone visiting Horta. We did miss having a baby chair, though we hadn't asked, so they may have had one.

Paul, the host, was easy to reach, and there was parking for guests. The room was small but practical, with lovely views over Horta, Pico, and the channel between the islands.

Of the six hotels we stayed in across three islands, this was our favorite. The host we spoke to was kind and helpful, and the apartments felt new. We slept comfortably, and the shared kitchens were good quality and well equipped, with a lounge area too. My only small gripe was that the shower could have had more power.

The place was really nice and everything was clean. The cleaning staff were lovely, and it's right by the beach, about a 10-minute walk from the center. There are two kitchens with everything you might need, plus free coffee and tea.
