Canavial I & II Apartments

The atmosphere was good and it was really quiet at night. Our room was great, and the staff were helpful. Teresa at reception was the nicest person we met in Portugal. Privacy was a little lacking because the door was the only window and the walls were pretty thin.

The coastal path and beach were an easy walk away, which made this a lovely spot for exploring the Algarve and unwinding. Our room was spotless and looked after well, and the beds were so comfortable that I slept soundly each night. The staff were warm, helpful, and always happy to share local tips. I had a wonderful stay at Canavial I & II Apartments and would highly recommend it.

For the price, this was good value, with a nice pool area and plenty of loungers, though the water isn't heated. The little kitchenette worked really well for making small meals, and I found the beds and pillows very comfortable. Reception was friendly and spoke English, though you could smell cigarette smoke from the receptionist smoking. Parking is available in the driveway or on the street, and the beach is fairly close. The building feels like a big house split into separate rooms, so the thin walls and echo mean you hear a lot. Towels are thin and rough, and the shower pressure is so strong that water gets everywhere. There was construction next door, noisy if you wanted to sleep in or nap. That was in October 2024.

The peaceful atmosphere at unit II and its pool suited families looking to rest, rather than people after a party. We stayed in one of the two studio-style apartments. Ours had a small kitchen with nearly everything needed for everyday cooking, and the beaches were around a 20-minute walk at an easy pace. Most people seemed to use a car to get around. There’s a nearby market, but it’s expensive, so buying things in the city center could save a few euros. It’s a pleasant, simple place for a few restful days, though it isn’t fancy.
