We had a lovely two-night visit in summer, and the host was welcoming and gave us great service. His cats were friendly too. We especially enjoyed his tips for places to eat and the nearby praia fluviales. Breakfast was a standout, with a generous spread of high-quality local products, and he even sent us off with a bottle of wine. We'd return if we're in the area again. My one suggestion would be to provide hand or face towels as well as bath towels.

The owner was fantastic, and the rooms were spacious, clean, and amazing. Such a beautiful place, with lots to see around the area, plus lovely walks and nature. I couldn't recommend it more.

I've stayed at Casa do Fundo twice now, and both visits were wonderful enough to bring me back. The house is charming and full of history, and Sr Pedro is such a lovely host. Make time to chat with him at breakfast or in the evening. He has beautiful stories about his family, the house, and the region. Breakfast is the best I've had, with local products and the region's best cheese. You have to try queijo da Serra da Estrela. The area is special, and the house is incredibly peaceful. The rooms and bathrooms have always been very clean, and Sr Pedro is happy to help with whatever you need. On our first visit, in the depths of winter, we caught the year's first snow in Serra da Estrela. Sr. Pedro made sure our room was warm and left plenty of blankets to keep us comfortable. We were also welcome to use the kitchen, which we did to prepare a few things for our son. He was always very helpful. If you're after rest, this house and region are perfect. I love this place and hope to return many more times. I'd give it 10 stars if I could. Thank you for everything, Sr Pedro. We have great memories of this house!
