Those two days were stressful from start to finish. When we arrived, an older woman was there, but she didn't speak English. The room was very small, and one toilet had to serve three rooms. We weren't allowed to cook in the kitchen, and when our friend came to visit, the owner called the police, saying it was a new Portuguese rule. A very bad experience, and I wouldn't recommend staying there.

We were comfortable in this private room at the owner's home, with its own bathroom and terrace. The owner was very nice, and it wasn't far from the center. The bed felt a little hard, though, and car noise in the morning was quite noticeable.

We spent three days here with our motorbike and had a fantastic stay. It was great value and about a 10-minute walk from the city center. I held back the fifth star because nobody told us the private bathroom was outside the room, and the room locks could use an update.

There's almost everything here, but no kitchen for making your own food. That means relying on restaurants.

A quiet, clean, perfect apartment, and Mr. Alfonso was very, very kind.
