The room was clean and well kept, and for the price it was great value. The location was excellent too, with everything we needed close by and getting around was easy. From the start, the hostess was so friendly and welcoming that we felt at home. The atmosphere was warm and personal, nothing like an impersonal hotel. We had a wonderful stay and would absolutely come back. Highly recommended if you want somewhere comfortable, affordable and truly hospitable.

It wasn’t a bad hotel, but compared with a few places in a similar price range around the apartment, this was easily the most run-down. It didn’t feel as good value as some of the others, though it wasn’t terrible.

Casa Sousa is a good affordable option. The friendly older woman who owns it has several rooms, each with its own bathroom and toilet, plus a shared kitchen upstairs. The beds are cleaned daily except Sundays. Walk a few metres downhill and there are cafés, restaurants, bars and local shops. The beach and bus stop take about 10-15 minutes on foot, while the marina and Europcar are around 15-20 minutes away. I've visited the Algarve several times, and Lagos is the place I'd recommend most. It's a lovely city with plenty of restaurants, shops, even late-night shopping, and several beautiful beaches.

The only drawback was some noise at night from the neighbors, who were a bit loud. That's not really the property's fault, though. Apart from that, everything was pleasant, and the lady was super nice.

The staff were really friendly, and it was easy to get to the beaches and nightlife. Despite being so close to all of that, the little hotel was quiet at night and easy to sleep in.
