I felt at home straight away, and the people were great. The layout gives you plenty of places to hang out, and the barbecue on my first night was fun. The staff were nice and helpful, and the location is great. But the bathroom was dirty. One tub was crawling with bugs the night I arrived, and another shower drain clogged so badly that my feet were submerged within minutes. The locker was small and out in the hallway, though it worked for what I needed. At least one night, staff and guests sang on the back porch past midnight, and with the door open, the hallways smelled of smoke. I’d stay again, but it wasn’t my favorite hostel of the trip.

There are lots of spots to hang out, including a nice garden and rooftop. The location is convenient for whatever you’ve got planned, and I found the other guests really pleasant, which isn’t always the case in hostels. The place felt cozy and family-like, and I felt safe and comfortable right away. Thanks for a great stay!

The outdoor areas were lovely for hanging out with other guests, and the staff were super friendly. I felt very safe traveling solo as a woman. One of the best hostels I’ve stayed in, highly recommend.

The very high ratings seem a little overblown to me. I've stayed in plenty of kinds of hostels, and nothing here stood out enough for me to call it exceptional. Still, the location is excellent, I heard no bothersome noise, and the kitchen, bathrooms, and common spaces were very clean. You can leave your backpack and use the bathroom and common areas for free before check-in or after check-out, though don’t expect to get in early. My room had a fan rather than air conditioning, which turned out to be fine, but even airing it out didn’t clear the damp smell. There was no shampoo in the bathroom. Maybe it was just when I visited, but the other guests didn’t seem keen to socialize, so it may not be ideal for solo travelers hoping to meet people. If you expect an unforgettable stay from that 4.8/5 rating, you might be disappointed. For a solid hostel that does what it should, it’s a good choice. My rating: 8.5/10.
