Vitasol Park Aparthotel

The location was the one good thing for us. We wouldn’t recommend this place to families looking for quality accommodation. We paid more than £120 a night and expected decent hotel beds and bed covers, but were disappointed, as the pictures show. The listing promised a mountain or pool view, but another building blocked the view. WiFi cost 6 Euros per day, even though we expected it to be included at that price. There was no pool towel service, so using the towels in the room meant having none clean for the rest of our stay. Bring your own soap and shower gels, as they aren’t provided.

The pool was the best I’ve ever booked for a holiday. It was big, deep, and refreshing, so I swam laps every day. There were plenty of sun loungers and a tennis court, and it was quiet in October. The food at the pool was okay, and the ice cream was great. Our room had a massive balcony and an awesome TV, but the beds were really hard and the bedroom smelled a little musty. The walk down the hill to the main town takes some effort, good for the heart, as they say. Uber Eats delivers too.

The reception team were some of the best I’ve met. They helped us pick and book day trips and boat trips. The pool bar and restaurant were good too, with a great choice of food, drinks, and smoothies. The staff stayed lovely even when it was busy with kids running around. The apartments are self catering, really big, with decent beds and a brilliant balcony with great views. There’s loads of room around the pool. My only gripe was the older sun beds, where the stretched fabric left you lying against the support bars. The newer ones were great, though. We’d definitely come back.

The apartment was clean, but this was the most frustrating and disappointing stay of our four months traveling. We’d booked two nights and left after one because they couldn’t get the internet working. WiFi was supposed to be available for a fee, but there wasn’t even a router or modem in the apartment. We work remotely and had several meetings planned. They also refused to refund the second night. The room smelled awful, very stuffy, as if it hadn’t been aired out for months. It was cold and rainy, around 9 degrees, and we had to sleep in our coats with the window and balcony door open to make the smell bearable. The AC wasn’t working either. There was no hand soap or dishwashing supplies, not even a kettle or cutting board. The one staff member we could reach agreed with us but couldn’t help. The manager wouldn’t speak to us despite several requests. I don’t usually review stays, but this was far beyond unpleasant. I wouldn’t recommend it.
