The Editory By The Sea Lagos

The hotel has a lovely indoor pool, sauna and steam room, which made it a great choice for a couple’s stay. Breakfast was good, though I’d have liked more halal options. The underground car park has an electric charger for an extra fee, but it’s inconvenient to have to ask reception every time you want to use it. It would be much easier if guests could access the charger directly and head back to their rooms. The rooms were spacious, elegant and comfortable, and everything felt fresh and thoughtfully designed. The hotel is new, the reception team are very welcoming, and the location near the Lagos coastline is outstanding, with golden beaches, dramatic cliffs and beautiful Algarve sunsets nearby. We had an amazing stay, and I’d give it five stars as a place to unwind and recharge.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and our room was a good size. The hotel is nearer the beaches than the old town, but we didn’t mind walking there. We went to a lovely sunset spot on the boardwalk close by every evening. There’s underground parking for a fee. The breakfast buffet was decent, and the restaurant served really good food too.

Our room was a little small, but for what we paid it was great, and it was very clean. We only stayed one night, though I’d gladly come back. The decor was beautiful, and the staff were really friendly. In the morning we used the pool, sauna and Turkish bath for free, and the free breakfast was delicious and hit the spot. A beautiful place to stay.

It was good value overall, though a few finishing touches would have made it feel more complete. The pillows seemed cheap and uncomfortable, and the shower gel was poor quality, so we had to use a lot. The dispenser was empty when we arrived. The hotel charged to use the underground car park, which I didn’t like. Getting into town was easy enough, either on foot or by Uber, which cost about €4.
