There was no hot water, and once we arrived the owner offered no way to get any. One shower had a broken faucet, while the other had the wrong shower holder. It's ridiculous to put that thing there when you knew it wasn't the right one. The replies we got were very impolite. The kitchen hadn't been cleaned after the previous guests. One room was full of someone else's belongings, with damp walls and a damaged floor. The building is very old, with poor ventilation, and the rooms felt like a microwave. There was no light in the hallway, so we had to use our phone flashlights. There's no elevator, of course, and we had to carry all our family's luggage up three floors. I didn't like the area. It's surrounded by even older buildings, and I didn't feel safe. Horrible place, worse people.

The apartment itself was in poor shape, with worn out mattresses, old furniture, and general neglect. The listing pictures on Booking.com didn't match its actual condition. There was mildew on the bathroom ceiling, possibly related to the structure of the building, and the terrace and balcony were also in bad shape. Looking out at the neglected courtyard was unpleasant. The worst was the smell in one room, which kept me awake all night. The next morning we found black mold in the bed frame. The landlord sounded accommodating on the phone and offered to waive the charge for the last two days, but in the end we got only a minimal refund. Booking.com wasn't much help either. Still, I thought the area was quite cool, with lots of artists and studios and a great restaurant around the corner. The landlord's tips were helpful too. It's a shame, as we could have had a great time if the apartment had been in better condition. Overall, a terrifying experience that took half a day out of our city tour.

The host was rude and responded inappropriately when we reported the lack of hot water on our first day. They didn't fix the water heater, and he said we'd gone to the beach so it wasn't a big deal. Knowing about the problem, he seemed more concerned that we pay the tourist tax, which we obviously intended to pay. The owner's response was not okay. Other issues made the stay uncomfortable. The main entrance lock was broken, and there was no light in the lobby, so at night we had to use a phone flashlight on stairs where there was barely room for a foot. There was no elevator. One bedroom had no window, and none of the bedrooms had curtains. The table still had breadcrumbs, and the terrace flowerpot had cigarette butts from previous guests. It's a very old building, the upstairs floor was incredibly noisy, and there was a lot of damp throughout the house. This accommodation isn't worth it.
